1. Purpose and Commitment

Embrasure Space is committed to providing a safe online environment for all users, with particular attention to protecting children from sexual abuse and exploitation. As a professional community for dentists, we uphold the highest ethical standards and have zero tolerance for any form of child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE).

This policy outlines our approach to preventing, detecting, and responding to CSAE on our platform, and establishes clear guidelines for all community members, moderators, administrators, and staff.

2. Scope

This policy applies to:

  • All registered users of Embrasure Space
  • All content shared on the platform, including but not limited to: posts, comments, direct messages, images, videos, and other files
  • All platform features and functionalities
  • All staff, contractors, and volunteers working with Embrasure Space

3. Definitions

For the purposes of this policy:

  • Child: Any person under the age of 18 years.
  • Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE): Any actual or attempted abuse of a position of vulnerability, differential power, or trust for sexual purposes with a child; including but not limited to profiting monetarily, socially, or politically from the sexual exploitation of a child.
  • Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM): Any representation, by whatever means, of a child engaged in real or simulated explicit sexual activities or any representation of the sexual parts of a child for primarily sexual purposes.
  • Grooming: The process by which an offender gradually conditions a child to accept and eventually participate in sexual activity.

4. Prohibited Content and Behavior

The following are strictly prohibited on Embrasure Space:

  1. Uploading, sharing, or distributing any form of CSAM
  2. Soliciting, requesting, or attempting to obtain CSAM
  3. Sharing links to websites containing CSAM
  4. Engaging in sexualized conversations with children
  5. Attempting to groom or exploit children
  6. Sharing personal information of minors without authorized consent
  7. Using the platform to arrange meetings with minors for sexual purposes
  8. Discussing children in a sexualized context
  9. Attempting to normalize or advocate for adult-child sexual relationships
  10. Creating, sharing, or distributing content that sexualizes children, even if the content itself is not explicitly sexual (including AI-generated or digitally altered images)

5. Preventative Measures

Embrasure Space implements the following preventative measures:

5.1 Community Standards and Access

  • Clear community guidelines requiring users to be dental professionals
  • Terms of service requiring users to be 18+ to create an account
  • User agreement to abide by professional standards of conduct

5.2 Content Moderation

  • Automated scanning of all uploaded content using industry-standard CSAM detection tools
  • Community-based reporting system where content reported by 5 or more users is automatically removed pending review
  • Manual review of all reported content by our trained moderation team
  • Regular review of trending content to identify potential policy violations

5.3 Platform Design

  • Default privacy settings that maximize user safety
  • Clear reporting mechanisms accessible throughout the platform
  • Content filtering and blocking capabilities

5.4 Education and Awareness

  • Regular communication about our CSAE policy
  • Training for all staff and moderators on identifying and addressing CSAE
  • Resources for users on digital safety and responsible online behavior

6. Detection and Reporting

6.1 Automated Detection

Embrasure Space employs advanced technology to detect potential CSAM, including:

  • Hash-matching technology to identify known CSAM
  • AI-based content analysis to flag potentially problematic new content
  • Behavioral pattern recognition to identify suspicious user activity

6.2 User Reporting

All users are encouraged to report suspected CSAE through:

  • The “Report” button available on all content
  • The dedicated reporting form accessible via the Safety Center
  • Direct email to our Trust & Safety team at [email protected]

6.3 Staff Vigilance

All staff members are trained to be vigilant for signs of CSAE and are required to report any suspicious content or behavior immediately through internal channels.

7. Response Procedures

When potential CSAE is detected or reported, Embrasure Space will:

7.1 Initial Response

  1. Immediately review the reported content/behavior
  2. Remove access to any potentially violating content while under investigation
  3. Preserve evidence for potential law enforcement involvement
  4. Temporarily suspend accounts under investigation for serious violations

7.2 Investigation

  1. Conduct a thorough investigation of the reported content/behavior
  2. Review the user’s history and patterns of behavior
  3. Determine whether the content/behavior violates this policy
  4. Document all findings according to internal protocols

7.3 Action

Based on the investigation findings, Embrasure Space may take one or more of the following actions:

  1. Remove the violating content
  2. Permanently ban the user from the platform
  3. Report the incident to relevant authorities, including:
    • National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) in the US
    • Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) in the UK
    • Equivalent organizations in other jurisdictions
    • Local law enforcement
  4. Provide information to authorities as required by law

7.4 Support

Embrasure Space will:

  1. Provide support resources to affected users
  2. Cooperate fully with law enforcement investigations
  3. Review and improve our systems and processes based on incidents

8. Legal Compliance

Embrasure Space complies with all applicable laws and regulations regarding CSAE, including but not limited to:

  • Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)
  • PROTECT Our Children Act
  • Prevention of Online Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Act
  • Relevant state, federal, and international laws governing CSAE

9. Cooperation with Law Enforcement

Embrasure Space is committed to cooperating with law enforcement agencies in the investigation and prosecution of CSAE. This includes:

  1. Promptly responding to valid legal requests for information
  2. Preserving relevant data in accordance with applicable laws
  3. Reporting detected CSAM to appropriate authorities
  4. Maintaining relationships with specialized law enforcement units

10. Policy Review and Updates

This policy will be reviewed annually, or more frequently if necessary, to ensure it remains effective and compliant with current laws and best practices. Updates will be communicated to all users through:

  • Platform notifications
  • Email updates to registered users
  • Updates to our policy page

11. Accountability

Embrasure Space holds itself accountable for the implementation of this policy through:

  1. Regular internal audits of policy compliance
  2. Transparent reporting on policy enforcement (within legal constraints)
  3. Designated staff responsible for policy implementation
  4. Regular training and professional development for all staff
